Ready to Work!

In 2016, the Omega CDC received a grant to pilot a workforce program from Montgomery County. We began by offering a 4-week training session, but later expanded the program to an 8-week training period.

This program focuses on equipping clients to address barriers which have traditionally impeded their access to secure and maintain living wage jobs. The objective is to deepen the impact by increasing the number of potential workers who are job ready with the transferable skills that will enable them to secure living wage employment and achieve economic sustainability through partnerships with OhioMeansJobs, Montgomery County, Miami Valley Child Development Centers, Miami Valley Urban League, CareSource, the Ex-Offender Re-Entry Program, and other community centers.

Our Accomplishments in 2016

In 2016, we successfully completed 3 training sessions and served approximately 30 individuals. Our final cohort concluded in the Fall of 2016 with eight graduates. To date 50% of those individuals are employed. The remaining individuals are pursuing educational opportunities or are unemployed and actively looking for employment.
